Something of a meditative flow that feels more important than whatever he is playing at a given moment. Occasional monolithic phrases and delicate shaping of feedback sculpt time. errantzephyr

Listening to this again today and it's terrific. This is different from most solo saxophone albums in a good way. Great melodic lines played with Tim's unique dark alto sound. Really like the track Curls. torzano

An album of tunes by Tim Berne played on acoustic guitar is not a thing that I realized I needed. Gregg Belisle-Chi (produced by Berne and David Torn) does something remarkable and organic on Koi, simultaneously distilling Berne’s compositions to their essential elements and imbuing them with a new kind of life. accordeonaire

I remember seeing Bloodcount play at Leeds Irish Centre about this time…the band very nearly outnumbered the audience… but it was one of the best gigs (out of very many) I ever saw and the band were terrific…on fire…25 years ago!! Who says you can’t time travel? This rediscovered recording took me right back…what a find! Thanks Tim…Love & Respect. Marc Ducret? My wife remembered his “scary sunglasses”… John Cratchley
